Economical breweries student startup Kwela Brews secures R20k funding

About Kwela Brews:

The brewing of traditional African beers on a domestic scale has been a source of employment for African women for decades.

Due to limited resources, they brew in poor hygienic conditions and poor efficiency, leading to the use of lethal additives in their brews and posing a health threat to their customers.

Kwela Brews joins these African women as they work towards their economic emancipation in a manner that is efficient and safe.

Founders:

Reitumetse Kholumo

What they do:

Kwela Brews helps brewers of traditional African beer to brew easily and safely by providing an easy-to-use and low-cost brewing machine.
